The Best Pink Laptop
My niece is a little princess. All princesses love the color pink, so when I found out that she needed a laptop for school, I had to find a pink one. I was also informed that not all pinks are the same. Bubblegum is not pink nor is rose. I have a background in computers, so I am going to be focusing more on the components and the construction of the laptops.
I started by looking at all of the pink laptops through Google Shopping. I found a number of different brands and prices. I then reduced my search to non-netbooks. Netbooks are just fine if you need a netbook. But if you need to have a CD or DVD drive or you plan on doing any real reading or work on it, you do not want a netbook. Next, I removed all of the Intel Atom based machines. Atoms are fantastic processors for micro devices, but they will disappoint in a real laptop. Next, I removed all of the laptops with a screen smaller than 15.4 inches. This removed a good number of the offerings from Sony, who seems to really be focusing on the smaller end of the laptop spectrum.
After reducing my search parameters, I came to a decision. The Dell Inspiron 1764 won out over all of the other laptops for the following reasons. Number one, it has a Core i3 processor which offers excellent performance and low power consumption. Second, it has a 17.3 inch monitor which does make the overall machine bigger, but does make it so much easier to use for longer periods of time. It has a 500GB hard drive, 4GB of RAM, a built-in web cam, media reader, and a 9-cell battery that should keep it going for quite a while. It also comes with Windows 7 Home Premium, unlike many of its competitors which still came with Vista.
The final reasons for picking the pink Dell 1764 was that from my experience Dell laptops can actually be repaired if they need to be. ACER, Sony, and many others are just impossible to fix. The final reason though for my decision was price. The Inspiron 1764 is under $800 and is packed with the right parts.
I know that my niece is going to love this pink laptop for a long time to come. It has all of the right features and enough power for anything that she is going to be doing with it. I know that pink laptops have become increasingly popular lately, just make sure that you get a good machine before you get a pretty machine. Luckily, there are also skins that you can get for your laptop to turn it into a pink laptop.
